{"id":87,"date":"2008-12-26T01:59:40","date_gmt":"2008-12-26T09:59:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/widrobistro.com\/wordpress\/?p=87"},"modified":"2008-12-26T01:59:40","modified_gmt":"2008-12-26T09:59:40","slug":"chinese-chicken-noodle-soup-with-sesame-and-green-onions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/widrobistro.com\/?p=87","title":{"rendered":"Chinese Chicken Noodle Soup with Sesame and Green Onions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>6 Servings<\/p>\n<p>1 pound skinless boneless chicken breast halves, cut crosswise into thin strips<br \/>\n3 T soy sauce<br \/>\n2 T dry Sherry<br \/>\n2 T oriental sesame oil<br \/>\n3 garlic cloves, minced<br \/>\n3 T tahini (sesame seed paste)*<br \/>\n2 T minced peeled fresh ginger<br \/>\n1T sugar<br \/>\n1T season rice vingar<br \/>\n1 \u00bd\u00a0 chili-garlic sauce **<\/p>\n<p>4 cups chopped Napa cabbage (from 1 head)<br \/>\n6 green onions, thinly sliced<br \/>\n8 cups canned low salt chicken broth<\/p>\n<p>1 14-oz package fresh yakisoda noodles or Chinese pan-fry noodles<br \/>\n\u00bd cup chopped fresh cilantro<\/p>\n<p>stir chicken, soy sauce, Sherry and 1 T sesame oil in medium bowl to blend. Let stand 20 minutes or refigerate up to 2 hours.<br \/>\nWhisk garlic, tahini, ginger, sugar, vinegar and chili sauce in small bowl.<\/p>\n<p>Heat remaining 1 T sesame oil in heavy large pot over medium-high heat. Add cabbage and green onions and saut\u00e9 until cabbage is tender, about 5 minutes. Add broth and bring to boil. Add chicken with marinate and tahini garlic mixture. Reduce heat to low and simmer until chicken is cooked through, about 5 minutes (can be made 1 day ahead. Cool slightly. Cover and refrigerate. Bring to summer before continuing).<\/p>\n<p>Cook noodles in large pot of boiling salted water until tender, about 5 minutes. Drain. Add to soup in pot. Stir in half of cilantro. Season soup with salt and pepper.
